Description

Position is to provide leading Network Architect level Engineering services in support of Major Verizon Business IP Managed Data Services Customer. Network architect needs a diverse knowledge in technologies & multiple vendors ( For example : Juniper, Cisco & BNT). Network architect needs to be master in WAN, LAN, WLAN, DWDM, Security , IPT & voice environments. Network architect needs to perform complex engineering for the Managed Service Customer Engineering organization plus a broad knowledge of overall Verizon Business Operations and Technology. Position requires independent thinking; demands full use and application of principles, theories and concepts of IP technologies.
Requirements
Requires a BS degree (Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, and Technology) or Masters Degree and a minimum of 9 years experience in technology disciplines. Vendor certification CCIE & JNCIE will be required. Thorough Juniper & Cisco knowledge with MPLS network architecture and design disciplines, operational support familiarity, previous and current extensive hands-on implementation, thorough configuration knowledge and capabilities for all platform levels. Very Strong customer interfacing background, as well as superior oral and written communication skills. Extensive technical writing skills are a requirement. Work closely with VzB sales teams and customers in meeting the IP technology requirements for the Verizon Business customer. In depth knowledge of all routing protocols (For example : BGP, EIGRP, OSPF, GLBP, VRF, Traffic engineering, L2/L3 VPN, multicast & class of service). Strong understanding and familiarity with router, LAN switch, application accelerator, wireless controller and Network Security (FW, IDS, IPS, DOS) platforms. Must be able to work independently and on multiple projects/activities concurrently. Disciplined and oriented in practice of and adherence too process and procedures.
