Description

This is a full time, on-site, salaried position located in New York City. No telecommuting allowed. US Citizens, Green Card holders, EAD, CAN preferred. H1/H1-B transfers considered. Local candidates desired; however, rock star candidates interested in relocating at own expense considered as well. San Francisco residents considered as well as they have a satellite office there.

My NYC client is looking for a Silverlight Developer who is passionate about developing cutting edge user interfaces. The ideal candidate must have experience working on large-scale, professional web applications built in C#.

Working with my client is more than just an opportunity to work with the latest technologies on challenging projects. It is also an opportunity to be exposed to a group of extremely accomplished and talented senior developers and designers. This team will be your base as you grow not only as a programmer but also as a professional software engineer.

Responsibilities:

* Program clean and re-usable C# code
* Create code and process documentation
* Participate and add value with ideas and input on products and features
* Work well with senior staff by executing specifications and processes in a manner that will enhance the ability of the team to get projects done on or ahead of schedule.

Requirements:

* B.S. in Computer Science (or equivalent)
* 3 or more years experience programming in C#
* Strong working knowledge of C# and Silverlight
* Experience with socket-level data communications
* Experience developing multithreaded software
* Experience with XML, JavaScript, HTML and CSS
* Solid understanding of object oriented principles and design patterns
* Some experience with standard development processes and procedures
* Ability to work in a highly collaborative environment while also being able to focus on independent work
* Ability to learn quickly in a fast paced and agile environment
* Demonstrates flexibility and openness to incorporate input from all levels within the organization
* Excited to participate in any task in the development process
* Strong analytical and problem solving skills, attention to detail, desire to learn, excel, and contribute
* Experience building desktop applications in WPF is a plus
* Sending us code examples is a big plus
