Description

A Pioneering Medical Liaison Opportunity

A leading Biotech company is expanding its Medical Affairs department and has a need for a Sr. Medical Liaison in your area.  This high-growth, midsize organization has averaged 13% revenue growth over the past three years and has doubled their oncology portfolio in that time.  As the Biotech division of a larger parent corporation, they operate in a dynamic, entrepreneurial environment with the financial resources of an established, highly profitable organization behind them.  If you are looking for an exciting opportunity in one of the industries fastest growing organizations, this could be the opportunity for you.

This organization is pioneering the Sr. Medical Science Liaison role because the product is actually an adhesive used in repairing soft tissue surgery.  So, it is more like a medical device than a traditional pharmaceutical.  So, this is an opportunity to leverage your expertise in a very dynamic therapeutic area and to call on and interact with some of the leading surgeons in the world.   This Liaison team is very small and their exploding growth has led to a need to expand, which means they now have a relatively rare opening.  The Liaison will be given a great deal of independence in their decision making, so we need someone who can think analytically and thrive in a fairly autonomous environment.

Responsibilities

The main role of the Sr. MSL is to maintain collaborative relationships with key customers, investigators and institutions to increase this product’s visibility with current and future industry leaders.  One key to success in this role is to identify scientific communication opportunities including abstracts, manuscripts, and professional education. Then you will be asked to manage research and educational activities at targeted institutions and practices with industry leaders and other key decision makers.  In a general since, you will serve as a consultant to internal and external medical directors and provide assistance with program development, guest lectures, symposia formats and scientific workshops.  You’ll be expected to participate in medical education for healthcare professionals through presentations at customer sites, investigator meetings, advisory boards, and other appropriate venues to enhance your product knowledge.  The travel expectation for this role is 50-75%.

Qualifications

The successful candidate will have:

·          Advanced Clinical Degree (MD, PhD, PharmD)

·         A Surgical Disciple Preferred

·         3+ Years of MSL Experience OR Clinical Experience in Surgery

·         Clinical Trial Experience

·          Outstanding Communication and Presentation Skills

·          Willingness to Travel

A VERY attractive compensation package for this position includes a competitive base salary, an above-average annual bonus based on company and individual performance, and yearly stock option grants based on performance.  A comprehensive benefits package - unsurpassed in the industry - is also provided, along with a company car.  A rapidly expanding organization means that significant opportunity exists for career advancement and professional development.
