The Server Solution Specialist (Server SSP) will be a senior sales executive who possesses excellent organizational, technical, communication and selling skills. The successful candidate will have 7-10 years of solution selling experience within the hi-tech industry as described below.

The Server SSP is responsible for developing and closing Server and Core Infrastructure Sales engagements in the Mid-Market Depth customer segment for the New York Metro territory. The primary objective of this role is to develop and close Depth customer opportunities to drive product group attainment via EA/annuity agreements. Responsibilities include:

• Drive FY attainment of Core Infrastructure Server product group revenue aligned with area of specialty via Depth sales engagements
Understand and sell using Microsoft’s Infrastructure Optimization Model (I/O)
Manage complex sales processes and optimize 3X pipeline to budget
Develop and Manage large ($50K+ product group rev. aligned with specialty) and competitive oppty’s in Depth
Build out Microsoft value proposition through discovery with prospects, engagement of specialist & partner resources, and identification of cross-selling opportunities
Ability to thrive by individual efforts in a team environment

Engage partners/PTS to drive the TDM value prop around Core I/O, Workloads, Security, Virtualization, BI, etc.
• Partner with LS/SEM on licensing discussions
• Cross collaborate within Microsoft to deliver specialized expertise to Depth customer opportunities
• Ensure 200 level personal tech. readiness on latest technology releases within your specialty and integrated solutions with the rest of the Microsoft stack

The successful candidate will work closely with the Area Sales Manager and peers to analyze territory and deliver sales growth by using a combination of direct selling, channel engagement and one-to-many activities. Candidates with the ability to succeed in this role will display the following attributes: Excellent communication, sales and negotiation skills, good organizational and problem solving skills; demonstrates a deep of Microsoft Core Infrastructure solutions; delivers articulate, effective and audience appropriate presentations/ demonstrations for Microsoft Solution products/technologies, strategies and initiatives; demonstrates the ability to engage with a wide range of audiences from end user to Senior Mgmt levels; demonstrates an ability to architect business solutions utilizing the full suite of Microsoft Solutions applications. This is a revenue focused sales role and successful candidate must demonstrate ability to create, manage and close opportunities in both an individual and team capacity. Knowledge of MS I/O model and the ability to articulate to customers and partners is required.

Pre-requisites include:
* Successful sales experience selling our suite of Core Infrastructure Server products (Windows Server, Management Svrs, Security, SQL)
* Understanding of how Server Products provide value to overall MSFT stack across all product groups
* Understanding of MS I/O model
* Demonstrated experience of and familiarity with sales cycles for selling to the commercial market
* Experience with analyzing market data, spreadsheets and other marketing tools
* Ability to quickly learn new software technologies used at Microsoft
* Flexibility and a positive attitude to change; ability to think laterally
* Tenacity and ability to drive revenue and programs to successful conclusion
* Willingness to drive individual results as part of team environment
* Statistical analysis; as it relates to Core Infrastructure Product set and sales territory - ability to provide data on opportunities and results to sales manager on prospective and completed events and activities

Qualifications:
5 to 8+ years experience, and a BS/BA in Business, Marketing or computer-related studies is required. Knowledge of Microsoft Platform is critical, along with a keen understanding of consultative solution sales, and high medium-business acumen. The ideal candidate will have proven success in a leveraged sales model, including business development and planning. Teamwork, communication and cross-group collaboration skills are critical. Position is located in the New York Metro area.
